About

LIFT THE FOG.

Launched in 2021 as a community for those who may be suffering in silence through traumatic brain injury (TBI) recovery as well as cultivating awareness and compassion of this complex injury.

My inspiration to start this blog stems from my own gut-wrenching, painful and heartbreaking recovery that is still ongoing almost four years later. While this is a means to express myself, I am hoping it can be a connecting ground to others experiencing the same.

I suffered a TBI on October 13, 2018, in an ice hockey game. From that day forward, my life has been turned upside down and has not relented since. For me, I didn’t realize just how good I had it until it all came crumbling down.

As my vision is still very much affected, launching this and writing has been an extremely challenging task to do but it is my own personal dedication and commitment to reaching my end goal of healing, of achieving some sort of normalcy.

I have put my entire being into this writing. If you have personally been affected by TBI in any form or if you are a loved one trying to gain more understanding, I am deeply hoping this site can be of benefit to you.

“You look fine” but beneath the surface is a completely different story.

Let’s break the stigma and lift the fog. Together.
